Mobile commerce
Mobile commerce vs e-commerce
There has always been the need to compare mobile commerce and e-commerce. From the surface, these two types of businesses seem similar however if you try and dig deeper you will notice that there are a lot of differences between m-commerce and e-commerce. E-commerce is simply electronic commerce. This is when someone purchases products or services over the internet. For it to be electronic commerce the entire payment has to be conducted online. Some of the most common e-commerce companies include eBay and Amazon. However, most retail businesses have e-commerce shops of their own.
Mobile commerce or m-commerce is commerce where someone buys a product or pays for a service using mobile devices such as phones and tablets. This kind of commerce is growing around the world. Now people can pay for taxi services such as a uber ride using their mobile devices. This makes mobile commerce more efficient and effective in terms of offering customers convenience. In mobile commerce purchasing products is also very common. It is common to see someone purchase a meal using a mobile phone.
Mobile commerce advantages
When it comes to preference I believe that mobile commerce has a slight edge over e-commerce. Mobile commerce uses technology such as geolocation in order to locate the customer. This makes it easy to deliver products to the customers instantly. In terms of e-commerce, you can only deliver products to the customer’s doorstep. Usually to the address listed on the customer’s credit card. This is what we call credit card prevention.
Mobile commerce as a form of e-commerce
Some people say that mobile commerce is actually a subcategory of e-commerce, therefore, the two cannot be separated. This is due to the fact that both of these services use the internet as a medium of communication.
